On 25th-26th​​ November 2021 in Siem Reap Province, the Cambodian Rehabilitation and Development Board of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CRDB/CDC), in collaboration with the National Council for Sustainable Development (NCSD) of the Ministry of Environment, conducted a training on Cambodia ODA Database under the theme of “Impact of COVID-19: Tracking Development Cooperation”. This annual training was presided over by His Excellency Chhieng Yanara, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister and Secretary General of CRDB/CDC, with a joint opening by His Excellency Sum Thy, Deputy Secretary General of NCSD, and was attended by around 70 participants, who are representatives from government’s ministries and agencies and development partners. In the context of adjusting to a new normal, this training was conducted in a hybrid format, in which some participants attended the training in-person and some participants attended the training virtually via video conference.

The main objectives of the training are as follows:

  1. To update on information and policy measures of the Government and development partners relating to responses to the widespread of the COVID-19 global pandemic;
  2. To introduce the customized features of Cambodia ODA Database;
  3. To discuss on impacts and key challenges of cross-cutting issues regarding climate change and gender; and
  4. To give a demonstration of methods to enter data in Cambodia ODA Database to development partners’ focal persons.

 

This ODA training is organized annually to provide data entry focal persons from all development partners with instructions on methods of recording ODA project data and customized features,​​ in line with the evolving global and national development landscapes especially in the context of COVID-19 pandemic and climate change, in order to ensure data quality and effectiveness in Cambodia ODA Database.     

 

In the closing session, His Excellency Rith Vuthy, Deputy Secretary General of CRDB/CDC, expressed his great appreciation for the active participation and valuable inputs provided by representatives from relevant ministries/institutions and development partners. His Excellency firmly believes that this training will contribute to the strengthening of data quality in Cambodia ODA Database, which is a significant tool of the Development Cooperation and Partnerships Strategy 2019-2023 and will serve as a response to the changing development cooperation both at national and global levels.
