On Wednesday morning, October 27, 2021, at the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), His Excellency Chhieng Yanara, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister and Secretary General of the Cambodian Rehabilitation and Development Board of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CRDB/CDC) received a courtesy call with His Excellency Martin Vàvra, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Kingdom of Cambodia. The main purposes of this courtesy and discuss the priorities on bilateral development cooperation and partnerships.
H.E. Minister Chhieng Yanara warmly welcomed and expressed his congratulation to H.E. Ambassador for being appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Kingdom of Cambodia and residing in Cambodia. H.E. Minister highly valued the achievements made by the Czech government for choosing Cambodia as one of six priority countries for development cooperation and continue to support in four priorities areas 1) Health (Maternity, Child, Infant Health & Nutrition) 2) Education and vocational training 3) Water and sanitation 4) Agriculture and Climate Change. At the same time, H.E. Minister highly valued on the progress of the achievements has been made through Memorandum of Understanding on Development Cooperation on Bilateral Development Cooperation Program of the Czech Republic for Cambodia 2018-2023 in contributing to sustainable and inclusive development of Cambodia. In the context of COVID-19, Czech government also contributed to support the emergency response to Cambodia through project on strengthening the preparedness and response capacity of Cambodian public health institutions to fight COVID-19.
H.E. Ambassador Martin Vàvra expressed his pleasure to begin his mission here in Cambodia and highly praised the RGC for its efforts and achievements in Cambodia’s development. H.E. Ambassador also highly valued and appreciated CRDB/CDC for excellent cooperation and partnerships with the Czech government through the Czech Embassy in Cambodia. Meanwhile, H.E. Ambassador informed H.E. Minister that currently the Czech Embassy in Cambodia has been preparing the procedures to receive the new project proposals for 2022, which will be officially announced to relevant ministries and institutions in the near future.
In conclusion, both sides expressed firm commitment to further strengthen and expand bilateral development cooperation and partnerships in contributing to sustainable and inclusive development of Cambodia. Taking this opportunity, H.E. Chhieng Yanara, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister and Secretary General of CRDB/CDC, expressed his sincere thanks and wished His Excellency Martin Vàvra, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Kingdom of Cambodia, succeed in his diplomatic missions in Cambodia.
