ជំនួបសម្តែងការគួរសម និងពិភាក្សាការងាររវាងឯកឧត្ដម ឈៀង យ៉ាណារ៉ា និងលោក Rho Hyunjun

On Monday, May 16th, 2022 at the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), His Excellency CHHIENG YANARA, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister and Secretary General of the Cambodian Rehabilitation and Development Board of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CRDB/CDC) held a courtesy meeting with Mr. RHO Hyunjun, Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Cambodia. The main purpose of this meeting was to discuss the Development Cooperation and Partnerships especially the progress of KOICA’s Development Cooperation and the selection of candidate projects of Request Survey 2024. 

His Excellency minister CHHIENG YANARA expressed his appreciation to the strong cooperation and partnership from the Government of Republic of Korea and its people contributed to socio-economic development in Cambodia. His Excellency Minister also highly valued KOICA’s active contribution to support various projects in Cambodia through grant aid especially the provision to support the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC)’s effort to combat the COVID-19 pandemic in Cambodia.

Mr. RHO Hyunjun expressed his admiration on CDC’s excellent cooperation while also reaffirmed his commitment in delivering extensive support to Cambodia as one of the highest prioritised country. Mr. RHO Hyunjun took this opportunity to express his strong commitment of Korean government to extend the cooperation and partnership between the two countries especially the continued support to the RGC’s national development goals. Furthermore, Mr. RHO Hyunjun highly appreciated the RGC under the wise and honorable leadership of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia for the remarkable achievement and effective government measures to address COVID-19 pandemic which led to re-opening the country across all sectors. From 1991 until 2021, KOICA has provided grant assistance to Cambodia approximately USD 316 million. In the future, KOICA will provide grant assistance to Cambodia which focuses on Agriculture, Health, Digital, Rural Development, Environment, and Climate change which articulated in KOICA’s Country Planning. Additionally, KOICA has also provided cooperation programs namely the dispatch of experts and volunteers, short-term training program and long-term scholarship, and partnership program with civil society.

His Excellency Minister CHHIENG YANARA highly valued on the progress of the project implementation and selection of new candidate projects for KOICA cooperation in Cambodia. In conclusion, His Excellency Minister reiterated his sincere appreciation to KOICA for the continued support to the RGC revitalizing the economy in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
