On 30 December 2020, the Cambodian Rehabilitation and Development Board of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CRDB/CDC) held the 15th Consultation on Technical Cooperation between Cambodia and Thailand via (Video Conference). This Consultation was chaired by H.E. Im Sour, Deputy Secretary General of CRDB/CDC, co-chaired by H.E. Pattarat Hongtong, Director General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and participated by the representatives from Cambodian and Thai line-ministries/agencies, approximately 50 participants. The main objectives of the 15th Consultation on Technical Cooperation are as follow:

  1. The review on the progress of implementation of Cambodia – Thailand Development Cooperation 2017-2019, Other Development Cooperation and Human Resource Development Programme in 2017-2019
  2. The discussion on the preparation of Three-Year Development Cooperation 2021-2023

As a result, the implementation of Cambodia-Thailand Technical Development Cooperation for the last three years (2017-2019) has achieved remarkable progress. The Technical Cooperation mainly focuses on 3 prioritised sectors namely: Agriculture, Health and Education through vocational training, and capacity building including both short and long-term training for government officials.

The meeting has discussed and agreed to accelerate the project implementation

on: 1). Establishment of building in Cambodian - Thai Skills Development Institute 2). Establishment of 3 storey building for Thai Department at Royal University of Phnom Penh and 3). The Establishment of Transit and Reception center for Victims of trafficking and Other Vulnerable Group in Banteay Meanchey Province. The meeting has also discussed and agreed on the preparation of Cambodia-Thailand Three-Year Development Cooperation Framework for the next 3 years by maintaining 3 main prioritised sectors and including five new prioritized areas, namely: Economic Development, Rural and Community Development, Social Development, Environment and Human Resource Development. In addition, Thai side reaffirmed their commitment on providing scholarship and short-long term training for 2021-2023 to Cambodia.  

The Consultation was concluded with expected results under the spirit of strong partnership which reflected good relation and cooperation between the two countries.
